Ifeanyichukwu Arthur Okowa is a Nigerian politician and medical doctor who has been active in Nigerian politics for several decades.
He is from Owa-Alero in Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria, and is a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Okowa has served in various political roles, including as a Local Government Chairman, Commissioner, and Secretary to the Delta State Government. He was also a Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District.
Okowa became the Governor of Delta State, serving two terms from 2015 to 2023. His tenure focused on infrastructure development, healthcare, and education initiatives, emphasising youth empowerment programs and job creation. Additionally, Okowa was chosen as the Vice-Presidential candidate for the PDP in Nigeria’s 2023 general elections, alongside presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.
His efforts to address Delta State’s development challenges and improve living standards have marked his political career.
