Owa is an Ika Kingdom located in the Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria. It is one of the prominent kingdoms among the Ika people, a distinct ethnic group in Delta State, known for its rich cultural heritage and traditions. The kingdom’s seat is in the town of Owa-Oyibu, which serves as its administrative centre and the home of the Obi (king) of Owa.
Owa Kingdom is part of the larger Ika community, with its unique dialect and customs. The Ika people, including those in Owa, have a long history and are known for their agricultural practices, arts, festivals, and a strong sense of community.
The current traditional ruler of the Owa Kingdom is His Royal Majesty, Obi (Dr.) Emmanuel Efeizomor II, has been a significant figure in preserving and promoting the cultural values of the Ika people.
