Idumuesah Progressives Association Doles Out Financial Gifts, Scholarships To Teachers, Students

History was made on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Idumuesah Secondary school in Ika North-East Local Government Area of Delta State, as members of Idumuesah Progressives Association, (IPA) rewarded seven best teachers of the school with Twenty Thousand Naira, (#20,000) each.

In addition to the above gesture, one of the sons of the soil who is also a member of the Idumuesah Progressives Association, Mr. Nicholas Momah to honour ten teachers with the sum of Ten Thousand Naira (10,000) each for always coming early to school. He also gave scholarship to ten students of the school for punctuality. The teachers who received #20,000 each from IPA include; Mrs. Evelyn Okoh, Mr. Benson A. C, Mrs. Joy Onyeugbo, Mrs. Blessing Aboki, Mrs. Grace Ekpede, Mrs. Irene Ezenwali, and Mrs. Cordelia Eseka respectively.

Names of the ten students who were given scholarship for coming early to school are; Egwari Chinwendu, SS3A, Emefiele Winner, SS1A, Osiemeke Chidinma, JSS1A, Osiemeke Mercy, JSS2A, Osiemeke Happy, JSS1A, Osiemeke Winner, JSS1A, Ifeanyi Miracle, JSS2A, Joseph Praise, JSS1A, Michael Ogechi, JSS1A and Peculiar Solomon, JSS1B.Speaking with Ika Weekly Newspaper Reporter shortly after the event, the President, Idumuesah Progressives Association, (IPA) Chief Dr. Raphael Dibie, President General, Idumuesah Community, stated that they are delighted to identify with the teachers and students of Idumuesah Secondary School.
He noted that their reason for coming to reward and honour the teachers in particular is to encourage them to always put more effort in their office duties.

He also stated that they also did so to encourage other teachers and students who did not qualify for the rewards to try to come early to school next time. He therefore advised the beneficiaries to keep up doing their good works as that is the only way the school can move forward and their lives can be better.
Chief S.E Elueboh charged the teachers to always show good example to the students by being punctual and coming early to school.

For the students, Chief Elueboh who is an educationist to the core, emphasized the need for the students to take their studies very seriously, rather than regarding education as scam. He noted that the only way to succeed in life is for someone to be committed to whatever he or she does for a living. He on this note, charged the students to face their studies as it is the only way to achieve their set educational goals. Also speaking, the Okparan-Uku of Idumuesah, Elder John Arimoro Alika, ably represented by Mr. Ojukwu Onyeghadu, the Okibali of Idumuesah, thanked the members of the Idumuesah Progressives Association for their support for the school in particular and the community in general. He prayed God to continue to bless them as they continue to join hands with him to bring more progresses to Idumuesah. He called on other sons and daughters of the soil to always come home so that together, they can move Idumuesah forward.
The Acting Principal, Idumuesah Secondary School, Mrs. Ann Obiazikwor that the IPA Executive Members for putting smiles on their faces. She equally appreciated Mr. Nicholas Momah for his giving scholarship to the students and for the cash gifts to encourage her teachers.

In addition, the Principal thanked the Permanent Secretary, Zonal PPEB, Agbor, Mrs. Mabel Ekpenisi for making efforts to witness the event and prayed God to grant her safe journey back home.
